Ya.. I was trying to get an update on the blog yesterday, but I was way too tired to write.
So, here his the latest edition for some nice Friday Afternoon\Night reading.
This week I have been really busy at work, but I did manged to do a few things inbetween.
Wednesday Night, I went for a really good burger at a place called Malone’s, which I had to go see, as that was one of our locals back in the Crackdown 1 days (oh, if I haven’t mentioned already, I am working on Crackdown 2!!). This place was quite a bit different, it was more modeled after an American sport bar than a Durty Irish pub.
And it just so happened to be Wednesday and guess what that is Bert Wednesday, so I had few pints for the folks back in Dundee..
On the way to Malone’s I grabbed a few pictures of the Hongkou Football Stadium, the whole thing is lit up and has the lights scaling up and down the side of the Stadium, quite impressive.
I then moved on to district called ‘Xintiandi‘, this place is another area where alot of western locals hang out. It was really big area with about 8-10 bars\restaurants and a cinema, lined with cobbled roads. Everyone is sitting out on the patio’s with low level lighting as they listen to different bands playing the in variety of venues. The ambiance of the place was very relaxing and a good place to hang out.
Today, I went to a really good Korean place for lunch and had this menu item (forgot the name), which was served in this extremely hot bowl containing rice and beef, veggies on top mixed with a spicey hot sauce. Well impressed.. ![]()
But before lunch, I toured a street called ‘Duolun Road‘ or Culture Street. This street has buildings around late 1800’s to early 1900’s, but this is where a lot of Chinese poets and writers came about during those times. So, they had a lot of Statues darted about with famous people of that era in those creative fields.
And tonight I just got back from eating at very nice Italian restaurant. And I must say the choices for food around here are very good.
Oh ya, I haven’t seen the sun since, I have been here, it is been completely overcast or raining, but still hot, sweaty and sticky. And look what I spotted, a Dairy Queen way over here.. love them Blizzards!!
